Types of Decks

There are two common types of decks which are discussed below:

1.    Composite Decks

If affordability and durability are your main priority, a composite deck can serve you well. Composite material used by Driscoll Contracting is one of the best in the market, and you can be certain that you will be getting one of the best composite decks!

2.    Wood Decks

Wood decks are a great and easy way to add value to your home. A traditional wood deck doesn’t just look beautiful. It also has a premium feel to it. Add value to your property by getting a wood deck installed!

Deck Construction Process

The first and most crucial step in deck construction is picking a well-reputed, licensed, insured, and bonded contracting partner. This will help you ensure that your new deck construction is done while keeping all the local and state regulations in mind, and in case there is some damage in the future, you can claim insurance. “Build to code” is not just a catchy phrase thrown around but a reality that all professionals follow in the market. The code has all the instructions regarding beam and post restrictions, deck footing depth, spacing, and joist size. Therefore, you must choose a contractor that has a proven record of adhering to these codes.

Once the foundation is built, 80-90% of the work is done after the framework is completed. This leaves the finishing bulk of the job, i.e., the decking, railing, lighting, trim, staining, etc.

All professional deck builders use pressure-treated lumber for the posts and framing, and they have to follow the guidelines set by the code. For your decking and railings, you might use Pressure Treated Wood or a synthetic material made of wood flour composite or plastic cellulose.    A “Trex” deck or a synthetic/composite deck refers to the deck boards and the railing.

If you want your deck to look awesome but don’t want to empty your pockets, we are a perfect choice. We will offer you the service that will make you come back again and again. Please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss this further!
